hi guys, this is probably really simple and make me look a fool but i cant for the life of me get reaper to render a midi file to wav. i downloaded reaper and spent the best part of 5 hr just getting the midi file to play. anyway i am evaluating at the min but dont mind paying as i need the right software to do what i want which i basically take and edit an already created midi file and save to wav so i can upload to a boss rc 300 and use as a backing track. i have tried anvil studio but cant get the midi drum beats/tempo to sync into the rc 300 tempo, been told the length of the midi with silence's when converted to wav increases tempo length on the rc 300, so reaper appears to be able to do all this but i cant get the wav file. when i render i dont see any waves just a straight line, do i need to have the individual tracks armed with various setting for it to work? head truly fried with this, all help greatly appreciated regard sean b

Make sure the settings in the render window are properly set up. I.e. make sure it renders the master and not selected tracks and either time selection or whole project. It's covered in the manual if you need more info.

Settings seem ok but it looks like you have no VST instruments inserted on the MIDI-tracks. REAPER needs virtual instruments to play that note data unless you use outboard synths. KVR Audio has loads of free VST instruments.

Well you're not really converting as MIDI contains no sound. You're really rendering. But it's not that complicated when you get the hang of it. :)
